Legislative Update

We continue to see movement on vaccine-related bills this session. Listed below are updates on several bills of interest that were acted on this week.

  • Passed Assembly, Pending in Senate Health Committee:
    A765, McDonald / S9893, Krueger — An act to amend the public health law, in relation to adult immunization reporting requirements
  • Passed Assembly, Pending in Senate Health Committee:
    A2078, Paulin / S5724, Skoufis — An act to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring the immunization of certain post-secondary students against hepatitis B
  • Reported out of Assembly Health Committee:
    A3254-A, Dinowitz — An act to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring children enrolled in an overnight camp, summer day camp, or travelling summer day camp to be vaccinated
  • Reported out of Assembly Health Committee, Pending in Senate Health Committee:
    A9140, Rosenthal / S9604, Hinchey — An act to amend the public health law, in relation to liability protections for persons administering vaccinations
  • Passed Assembly, Pending in Senate Rules Committee:

Building on this legislative momentum, Let’s Get Immunized NY will be spearheading weekly grassroots toolkits as part of a dedicated May Immunization Action Month.

Designed to support consistent, coordinated outreach across LGINY partners, toolkits will include a unique action item each week. You can expect email templates, call scripts, and social media content with customizable messaging to create a sustained drumbeat of outreach to legislators throughout the month.
