Who We Are: The NYSAFP is the New York State chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). We are physicians, residents, and students who are dedicated to promoting the field of family medicine and to improving the health of patients, families and communities through education and advocacy.

Funding Opportunities:
NYSAFP offers scholarships that promote education in family medicine. 
  • National Conference - scholarships are awarded to residents and students wishing to attend the AAFP NC in August. The application for these $600 scholarships are  here.  To read what previous attendees thought of the conference, click here.  
  • Summer Externships - NYSAFP & AAFP matching externship grants - students wishing to work with a family physicians can apply for a $2000 externship grant in April; award recipients notified in May. Application will be here.
  • Conference Schorships - Scholarships to attend annual CME event, Winter Weekend. Application  available here, recipients will be notified in November.
