Local Chapters

Our local county chapters provide:

• Representation at the AAFP as a result of State dues and representation of the local county chapter at the NYSAFP.
• Promotion of Family Medicine in the Medical Schools and support of student programs.
• Support of Family Medicine Residency & Fellowship Training Programs.
• Relevant and interactive CME programs.
• Promotion of Family Medicine in the Federal & State legislatures and policy makers through the different PAC's.
• Hosting of CME workshops.
• Support of the relief effort in disaster areas around the world.
• Networking opportunities for members to connect with other local physicians through informal socials.
• Opportunity to interact with fellow Family Physicians throughout the state.

• Organization of informative sessions on practice management topics to foster sharing of best practices.

• Sponsorship of students to academy meetings (Winter Weekend, Regional Family Medicine) and the Congress of Delegates
• Speakers from international organizations, like Doctors Without Borders, come speak to give us information and perspective on international medical work. 
• Cultivation of the next generation of family physicians by offering scholarships and awards to pre-medical students, medical students, and residents to participate in family medicine conferences and programs.
