Program Description: Providing tuition assistance to qualified 3rd & 4th year medical students who are passionate about primary care.

Eligibility
  • The program provides a scholarship for tuition and expenses for up to 2 years for 3rd and 4th year medical students.  To qualify for the scholarship, the medical student must:
  • Agree to practice primary care via family medicine, internal medicine, or internal medicine/pediatrics.
  • Be in good standing in medical school
  • Be a USA citizen but does not have to attend school in the USA
  • Remain eligible for 4th year to continue award
  • Be in 2nd or 3rd year of medical school at time of application
 
Selection Criteria
  • Students will be selected based on feedback received through the application process focusing on the following areas:
    • Academics
    • Experiences
    • Reflection
 
Award:
  • Maximum annual award amount is $65,000
  • Awards are granted per student for both 3rd & 4th years of medical school. Student does not need to reapply each year.
  • Funds may be used for tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and other school related costs approved in advance by HHHN
  • Award requires a 4-year commitment to the Hudson Headwaters Health Network
  • Max of two awards annually
 
After Graduation Requirements:
  • Student must match into a family medicine, internal medicine, or internal medicine/pediatric residency within one year of graduating medical school. Options for Fellowship with mutual agreement
  • HHHN determines what locations physician will work at based on its needs at the time
  • Physician must sign LOA within three months of finishing residency and begin work within one year after finishing Residency/Fellowship
